If you want to grab your visitor’s attention on the first landing page of your website, how much time will you get to do that?
According to statistics, you have a maximum of 15 seconds to get your visitors to like your content. Therefore, it is clear that 15 seconds is not enough time to read one paragraph.
Then again how can you grab your users’ attention? Blogs use mostly images for that purpose. So now you have to add an awesome attention-grabbing gallery to your website while maintaining page speed to the optimum.
For that, I have a solution that may assist you. In this case, I am referring to Envira Gallery Pro, one of the most popular and fastest gallery plugins for WordPress. This plugin is quite popular, with more than 300,000 active installations on WordPress. You may have heard of it already.
Don’t worry if you want to learn more about this plugin, I will share my own experience with this plugin. This may be the last push before you decide to purchase this amazing plugin. So please stick to the end, as you might discover something new.
What is Envira Gallery
The Envira Gallery is a plugin that can be used by any blogger, photographer, or eCommerce site to showcase products in an image gallery. You can also add a video gallery in the latest version, which will help make video content accessible for visitors and help video content creators.
To obtain the premium plugin, you must visit the official website or purchase it from CodeCanyon. However, if you would like to test the plugin first, you can access a lite version from the WordPress repository.
Envira Gallery is now 8 years old, making it one of the most popular WordPress plugins. It provides Lightbox, Woocommerce Integration, Watermark, and Password Protection on top of a superfast page, regardless of whether the extension is installed or not.
It is well known that speed is now one of the most important ranking factors for Google, so compromising on that is no small issue.
Envira Gallery Review: All Settings
You will find all the Envira Gallery settings on the right side of your WordPress dashboard. These are all five options. Don’t worry if you are not a WordPress guru; I will walk you through each option.
- Add New
- Overview and
Envira Gallery Features Overview
In the Overview, first tab, ‘What’s New‘ you will find the latest updates to existing plugin features and newly added features. In addition, you will find the plugin’s documentation.
The “Get Started” tab contains instructions on how to use the plugin. If you are a photographer or photo editor, you may be interested in adding Lightroom to the gallery. Additionally, there are some guides on preventing copying and piracy of images.
I will discuss addons in a dedicated section, so I will not discuss them here.
Envira Gallery Settings
In this tab, you will get 3 more settings options:
- Compression (Beta)
You can add and validate your license key in the General tab. Further, if you want to use the license on another website, you can disable it from here.
Also, you can make some basic changes, such as adding a new image to a gallery before or after the previous images. If you choose to delete a gallery, you can also delete all the images within the gallery from your website. Additionally, you can edit the loading color to your preference.
This is a very useful feature. You can create a dedicated URL for your galleries to access them directly. Let me explain what this means.
Creating a landing page for your visitors will allow them to view different galleries with multiple images.
For example, if you add six galleries with 200 images each, you will have 1200 images. This is both a user and a Google issue. Your site will not be able to load pages quickly, which will result in a poor experience on your site or page.
This smart feature allows you to create multiple galleries and add the URLs of each gallery to your landing page so that visitors can easily access their desired gallery and maintain a positive website experience.
The images on a website consume a considerable amount of space and take a long time to load. Nowadays, faster is better, so compressing your images can significantly benefit your search engine rankings.
Also, you can set a size for all of your images. Using this option, all of your images in all galleries will have the same size, beneficial to user experience and website design.
Since this is a beta version, I do not recommend this feature for photography websites because you understand how important it is to display authentic photos to get attraction from clients.
From the Tools panel, you can access 3 tools and view the status of your hosting account.
Here, the tools are not just for show. For example, if you update your permalink in the WordPress editor or add SSL after creating some galleries, you can redirect all of them at once. I cannot think of a more useful tool than that.
“Envira Cache” and “Envira Options” both serve the same purpose. The gallery will display a warning if it detects that one or more addons are not working properly. In addition, you can clear all your cache or turn off any gallery interfering with your website’s design.
Envira Gallery Add New Option
You can add a new gallery to your website in 3 methods.
- Shortcodes with Classic Editor
- Block with Gutenberg Editor
- And Page Builder addons ( Elementor and Beaver)
ShortCode: You need to click on the “add new” button to give the gallery a name and add images to it. If you have existing images on your website, you can upload them or even use them. First, create the gallery and save it. Then, copy the code from the generated gallery.
And then open the page or post you want to add to this gallery. And paste the shortcode there. After that, your gallery will be ready to show on the page.
Block: If you are not a fan of the classic editor, you can add the gallery using the Gutenberg Editor. For that, you have to create a gallery in Envira Settings. Alternatively, you can create the gallery directly on the page.
You can upload multiple images or select multiple images from your Website Media Library to create the gallery.
Envira Gallery Addons
In this section, Envira Gallery differentiates itself from most of its competitors. When you purchase the lifetime or PRO plan with them, you will have access to up to 32 addons.
Let’s take a closer look at them one by one.
Gallery Themes Addon:
It allows you to easily create galleries based on pre-made themes. Simply choose your favorite and customize it further for a better design. It takes just a few clicks to do this.
From the Configuration tab, you can edit your theme. If you select anything other than “Automatic,” you will be able to select the number of columns and gallery themes.
Standalone Galleries addon:
You can create standalone galleries that are unique from the others and the posts or pages that you place them in. You can create a permalink for every gallery that redirects a user to the gallery separately from the blog post.
An excellent feature for having many images in a single gallery. You can set it to play and pause it on hover automatically. It’s a cool way to provide the viewer with an enjoyable visual experience. In addition, you can set a time in milliseconds for the next image to appear.
If you want to play music in the background of your images, specifically in the lightbox, this addon can be useful.
Beaver Builder Addon:
Beaver is an excellent page builder plugin. This addon is essential if you want easy access to your Envira Gallery while developing your site with Beaver.
Supersize Lightbox Images:
This addon is pre-installed with the Lightbox addon. You can enable or disable that in Lightbox settings. Your visitor will see how the images will appear in fullscreen.
NextGEN Importer Addon:
If you have the NextGEN gallery installed on your website, you can import all of the NextGEN galleries and items into Envira in just a few clicks. Since the same parent company owns both NextGEN Gallery and Envira Gallery, there is no surprise.
Dropbox Importer Addon:
The Dropbox Importer Addon allows you to add images directly from Dropbox to Envira Gallery. As a result, your images will load more quickly and not take up any cloud space.
With this addon, you may add your own CSS and customize the gallery according to your requirements. There is a feature in the Misc setting that allows you to add CSS code to fix any flaws in the gallery design.
This is my favorite addon. Image theft is a major concern for website owners. It is not uncommon for people to download an awesome image and publish it on their website without acknowledging the owner. Therefore, you can prevent this right click and easy download by using this addon.
This feature is available in the Misc setting (See image above).
If you are an artist and would like your visitors to print the images directly from your website, this addon is a gem. You can enable a direct download button in the lightbox and gallery images.
Featured Content Addon:
This is an awesome feature to show your favorite post and page. You can create a gallery that contains all of your favorite or most popular posts. Installing this addon eliminates the need for any additional plugin to display your featured posts.
Since you are not limited to the website for images, you have to use social media for this. Due to Instagram’s popularity as a social media platform for sharing images, Envira Gallery allows you to show your Instagram images directly on the galleries.
To set it up, go to settings> Instagram. Authenticate it with your Instagram account, allow all media to sync with the plugin, and you are done.
Password Protection Addon:
If you are selling images from your website, the password protection addon will be of great help for you. You can set up passwords for certain images to access only members with a password.
You can add a password by selecting “Visibility“> Password Protected> Enter your password in the textbox and submit.
The feature is very much in demand at the moment. Starting in 2021, Google began ranking pages with faster load times. Due to slow loading, many high-ranking websites have been downlisted.
You can use this addon to create a gallery directly if most of them have the same problem. In addition, it allows you to create multiple pages for one gallery, thereby speeding up the loading process.
I am sure I do not have to explain to you the importance of Pinterest when it comes to images. The majority of people still prefer to check images on Pinterest before taking any action. Some people even save these images to their collections. A Pinterest addon has simplified these tasks.
You can use this addon, especially for events. You can set a duration and a date to showcase a specific gallery or a specific image within the gallery.
This extension allows you to add tags to images.
Another way to protect your images from internet theft is to add a watermark. You can use any logo or other text-based image as a watermark on your every image.
This is especially for Photographers. You can add EXIF metadata to your images like device model, lens, etc. Then, choose where you want to show those data in the frame and show details outside the image box.
This lets the user zoom in and zoom out.
Envira Gallery Defaults Addon:
This addon helps you minimize the time to create a gallery. If you select a default theme and design from the gallery, the design will automatically apply when you upload a set of images.
With the Elementor addon, you can create the gallery directly via the addon if you have built your website using the Elementor page builder.
This will allow the Elementor plugin to create galleries out of its own settings. This will give you maximum flexibility and customization and more options and flexibility over your website.
Great help in SEO and user experience. The user will keep track of their position on your website and quickly access a gallery.
This addon will add a button under the images if you sell any images on your website and you want to allow your visitors to download them. If you want only to let some selected individuals download your images, you can set up a password for the download as well. This may be useful when selling or providing courtesy to others.
This addon/feature is awesome for photographers. Using this addon, you can transfer images directly from Lightroom. This allows you to upload your images from your desktop to your website more easily and saves you a lot of time.
To access this feature, you must go to the Envira Gallery settings on the right side of the WordPress dashboard. First, select the Lightroom tab and the user account from which the images should be added.
You can generate multiple access tokens if you have multiple Lightrooms or copy what is already there and integrate it with Lightroom Publishing Manager.
ZIP Importer Addon:
If you have a lot of images and want to upload them in bulk, this addon will help you a lot. Make a zip folder for your images and upload it to the Misc folder.
This addon is for you if you plan to sell your images through your website. You can sell individual images or your entire gallery as products. In addition, you can set a price and a payment gateway using the WooCommerce plugin.
An amazing feature for both website owners and purchasers. You must enable the proofing settings in the gallery. In addition, you have the option to enable how many images a buyer wants, what are their preferred sizes, and so forth.
You can control whether or not customers are allowed to edit or delete orders. You can also enable the Proofing in Lightbox option from the config panel.
The social addon allows sharing images across five platforms. Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, LinkedIn, and E-mail. You can set where you want to put those icons. It is possible to place the buttons at any four corners of the image and set them horizontally or vertically.
Additionally, you can allow the social icons to appear in the lightbox.
If you want to share different captions, text, and tags for various social networks, you can also do so. Again, you will find different settings for each of the five sharing media.
You may feel that images are insufficient to show a product’s potential or entice clients to purchase it. Since videos are becoming more popular each day, you can add videos of your products to increase product selling conversion rates.
Envira has listened to our wishes and added this addon. It can be found by navigating to the gallery configuration panel and clicking the Video addon. You must select “select from other sources” and “insert videos” to insert/upload videos.
You may add a short description and video URLs to the title. However, it allows adding video from YouTube, Vimeo, Dailymotion, Instagram, Wistia, Twitch, as well as from local storage.
You can create a dynamic gallery for some posts or pages. It is similar to creating a regular gallery.
If you have multiple galleries within the same category, you can put them all in an album to make navigating them easier. For that, click the album settings on the right and add or use existing galleries to create a new album.
You can enable this addon if you want to view your images in fullscreen mode for an enhanced viewing experience. You must enable this feature under the Lightbox setting for this feature to function.
Envira Plugin Pricing
The plugin is available in four packages:
- Basic- $26/year for a single site.
- Plus- $62/year for 3 sites Licenses.
- Pro – $89/year for 5 sites Licenses.
- Lifetime- $269/lifetime for unlimited sites.
Each package includes various features. Every package has its own advantages and disadvantages. Give them the awesome experience of showcasing their images with some super effective add-ons.
Envira Gallery Review: Final Word
When it comes to user experience, which you should be because Google keeps track of that for ranking, it would be best to use a gallery plugin rather than the WordPress default. So you should always buy the best one for yourself.
It is very simple to understand my theory. Imagine selecting a less flexible or cheaper option, for now, only to regret it in the future; this is a complete waste of time and money.
Instead, if you are serious about your online business, going straight for the most valuable asset is the right approach. It is now time to put this plugin into action on your website to explore its potential.
